“Purley” comes from the Anglo-Saxon word “pirlea”; ‘pir’ meaning pear tree, and ‘lea’, a clearing, so it was probably originally an area where pear trees grew. Now part of the London Borough of Croydon, it has much to recommend it, not least its location bordering the chalk hills of the South Downs, despite only being about 11 miles from Central London. In popular culture, popular 80s sitcom Terry and June was set in Purley.

With years of experience in the care industry, I began as a carer at Helping Hands, progressing to Care Training Practitioner and Care Coordinator. This journey has allowed me to enhance my knowledge and ensure our carers exceed expectations.
